Hi,
I'm trying to make a realistic image of a house - im quite happy with what Ive done so far but wondered if anyone could offer advice on how to improve the image.

Bit late aren't you :)

I think that you should use an hdri for lightng to make it even more realistic!

spot on! except for some anti-aliasing issues, the image looks perfect.
but who am I to blame you for the anti-aliasing?... certainly you exported the image as a .hdr where those errors are very common. try exporting as .jpg, which leads of course to a much better anti-aliasing!

It doesn't get much more realistic than this

i especially like what you did with those shaders, hope you will share them when the project is finished.

hehe, no sorry we haven't been very helpful or kind deflix. Hope we haven't shattered your creativity with these jokes.
Perhaps you could feed us with a little bit more feedback and perhaps a couple of referencephotos of what you wanna achieve here. There's too little meat on our bones to keep us happy enough to provide you with any sort of useful feedback. So throw us some bones, we'll try to help you sort this out..

thanks

What are you saying? ...... I thought they were ok!? are they not good or something?
Talking of secondlife here's a recent model Ive built in the the worlds finest realtime tech - cryengine2 - a much more better engine then most. One day (not too far from now) we'll all be using this. I guarantee it.

Yeah, the demo reel of CryEngine2 is fucking incredible. Soft shadows, Mblur, Dof, i was convinced the gaming industry wouldn't approach this for another decade.
Shit's gonna get real...
