Turning off physical sun

Thanks!
I am using physical sun..is there any benefit to turning it off?
With physical sun turned on..aren't the renders more "realistic" with better shadow qualities?

I wouldn't turn the sun off. If you want even lighting with no hard shadows, use the sky dome.

Living here in England, we rarely get anything else but diffuse light.
