Is there a way of changing the camera size/zooming out but keeping the same perspective as before?

Client needs a portrait view instead of landscape with more background either side but keeping the same perspective of the object in shot.

Any ideas?

if i understand you correctly, you want the same perspektive but more/less background?

choose your desired ouput-resolution, and adjust film aspect ratio accordingly...that`s it! or did i get it wrong?

In case you're still wondering, you just need to change the film width.
