Did you down-size them for upload?
I have noticed this will happen if you down-size a hdr in Photoshop while in 32 bit mode. First switch to 16 bit before adjusting the image size.

I always save to hdr and have never noticed it. Now I will look closer, I'm sure. Have you tried rendering at higher resolution to see if it is still present?

thank you bubbaloo for the reply!
i am not in the office at the moment so can not render in hires now...
but i don`t think it is depending in size of render?
maxwell should work at any size! but i will test it tomorrow...
the AA-bug is best visible in vertical lines, that is why i rendered a star-like-thing for testing!
maybe the A-team can help?!
thx

this is what i referred to in my
post
I have noticed that this added brightness also leads to stronger aliasing artefacts in highlight areas, if the hdr is compared to the .png output.
(eg. corner hit by sun bordering background sky)
.. and i think that is not what it is supposed to be like... or is it?

thank you frosty_ramen for taking some time!
the AA-bug is more evident in thinner geometrie, maybe you could decrease the radii of the cylinders to 1% and render again?!
i took a closer look of your render in PS (two layers)...even here you can see in comparison that hilights on the top of the cylinders vs background starts to get stepped...
hmmm, maybe this AA-bug is getting stronger when hilights are at the edges of the model...take a look at my renderings!
thx

not.. it is not as visible at first (exporting less exposed hdr/png), but once you crank the exposure back up in PS.. it will look just the same.

finally i found a solution for saving the rendered image as hdr without getting bad AA...
i switched to another unbiased renderengine, which has no problems saving images as hdr correctly!
@NextLimit
will this be fixed before Maxwell2.0 is released?
thx
