Mapping placement in Studio

I have looked everywhere and I can't find the controls for cylindrical texture mapping in Studio.
I am trying to map a small graphic in the middle of a curved surface and the 'UV parameters' won't allow me to place the axis of the mapping cylinder where I want it.
Am I imagining that there is/was a cylindrical mesh for the orientation of maps? Can't find anything in the manual.

Switch selection mode to UVs (row of buttons at the top of the UI) and select the UVmap in the object properties that you are trying to edit. It will appear in the viewport along with gizmos so you can position it how you want.
