reasons for mxcl crash ?

hi ..

i am trying to render a scene with LOTs of polys. mxs = 713 MB

i work on win xp 64 with 8 gigs of ram. mxcl crashes in the voxelisation phase when there's still about 5 gigs of ram left.

what could i do ?

i have some displacements in the scene too.

i guess you have to do old style bug tracking... export layer by layer to see which objects/materials make it crash...

or simply try breaking the scene down pyramid style.. render half-half-half- etc.. until it crashes.. then investigate further that part of the model
