My first (and hopefully not last) published article is included in 3d World Magazine issue 113. I created an interior rendering and wrote a tutorial about optimizing Maxwell to get decent render times for interior renders. It's a 5-page article and the final render covers the first 2 pages.
Man, it's a cool feeling to see your name in a mag...

that's must feel good, now you're king of the hill. Use it to your advantage now.
Btw, does it say in the magazine "image copyright Bubba" or something else ? hehe

I'm curious! This achievement from a personal point of view can you put this in your CV or Portfolio?

Absolutely. I only included our firm to gain some "points" with da bosses.
No, really I did this as a personal project on my own time, but I do owe a lot to MacFarland Davies. They allow me to call all the shots when it comes to hardware and software choices, as well as providing me with training courses and basically anything I need to further my skills. It's a great place to work.
Thanks 4 HeRo

That is really good to hear that your company is so supportive in you and what you do! Your very Lucky - I've worked at a company or two where I experienced the dreaded Micromanagement! Its really sad when companies have this type of management style as your unable to show what your fully cable of doing for that comapany!

Yeah, I've been there too... I knew I found a good company here when, in an office meeting, they gave a presentation on going from "good" to "great". They said all great companies need to be "the best" at one thing. They decided that they were going to be the "best" place to work. Great news for employees! It is true. As long as I hold up my end of the bargain, they will do what it takes to give me the tools I need to succeed (and threfore, they succeed). Also, about 2 years ago the owner sat me down in his office and told me he wants me to be the best in town and blow away all of the competition with our presentations. Now, granted, it is not that big of a town, but I am striving to meet his expectations. Truly a great place to be.
