I have an image that keeps giving me black pixels in areas where some glass is.

I have tried high grade (first one) and architectural grade (second one) and even a an mxm water shader.... all of these from the wizard. I am using maya and then rendering out using the plug-in as normal.

Can't seem to get rid of them. Quality setting is 60-70 and teh longer it goes the more black pixels I get. I am using and HDR and physical sky and a two emmitters.

ANY IDEAS Appreciated

Do you have any materials with SSS in the scene? I have had one scene develop a lone black dot, but nothing like this!

(Interesting render)

i have encountered this problem just recently too. i think it has to do with displacement.

do you have any displaced materials?

It's a problem with old materials that have SSS that doesn't render ok in 1.7 for some reason. I had the same problem. if you must have SSS, re-create the material you need in the material editor and maybe it will help. Don't use the one you d-l from MXM gallery or something like that.

found it
