quick question about merged emitters

If you merge 5 emitters (sharing the same material), that’s 20watts each, do you set the emitter material to 20watts or (5x20=)100watts?

trofaster - I think that's right. I'm not sure if it's quite that linear but it seems to give the correct results. We'll wait for an expert to confirm...

Not to be offensive but trofaster's question was an "A or B" type question and, oz42, your response was "I think that's right." Huh?

sorry, you're right! I misread the post. I would go with 5x20=100.

That's correct, multiply the emitter strength x the number of emitters. It might not work so well if the emitter planes are different sizes.

Thank you - I felt a lurking sense that something should be dealt with exponententially, but my results seems to match your advice.
