using Multilight to setup emitter

Hi everybody

We need to render hi resolution images (5500/4285) but we can not with a multilight option, our bigger render server, a bi-xeon quad core, isn't strong enough. So we want to render a 3700/2781 resolution with multilight, setup up our spotlights with the emixer, then setup our emitters in the same way in our scene to finally render an 5500/4285 resolution without multilight.

I hope I'm clear ;)

Our problem is we can not find the correspondance between emixer and emitter. When I move a emitter in the emixer from 100 to 200, what do I have to multiply per 2 in my original emitter to have the same illumination ? Watt ? Efficacity ? Both ? Temperature ?

another way to see the question: what are the emitter parameter(s) the emixer is seting up ?

Thanks for your help

You double whatever Luminance value you use in the emitter. So double either the watts, or lumens, lumens/m² etc. If you're using mxi emitters you have to open the mxi in MXCL and adjust it's intensity slider.

Thanks Mihai

Next Limit is working on sunday :) I understand It is the best renderer

So in a watt + efficacy setup, I double watt and I also double efficacy ? :D

It's Sunday today??? :P

You can either double the watts, or efficacy but not both. These settings tell the emitter how many lumens to emit per watt. So a 60W bulb at efficacy 13 emits 780 lumens.
