re-sizing MXi files?

Is there any way of doing this at present?
The reason I ask is that If I create an MXi at 3000 pixels across for the purpose of producing an image but also want to create a smaller animation with multilight I have to wait an eternity to produce each frame at full res - only to re-size afterwards; an extremely inefficient approach.
Thanks.

Without interfere with your request...
Can't just resize the final animation?

of course you can - the problem is that if im creating the frames at 3000 pixels across the whole process takes about 10 times longer. Surely it would be simpler to just have a frame-size option when creating the sequence - it would be so much faster to create 300 frames at 768x576 then at 3000x2250
The MXi format is very powerful but Im confused as to why this and other rudimentary features are not part of the specification - it seems a shame when so much beautiful and complex work is attenuated by omitting such obvious features.

Why did you render it at that large size if you are resizing it to such a low res (relatively speaking)?

I'm sorry I can't give a more useful answer, but just to say it's a good feature request for a future update.

Could you save it as HDRI and resize in Photoshop?

The problem deflix means is it takes time for MXCL to generate the individual frames in a multi light animation for a highrez render.

what im saying is this. When I create an image I always use multilight - this is a no-brainer as it gives me unprecedented control at render completion. With all our work we produce high res images and so the MXi is always High res.
A nice additional feature of multi-light is the animation output -- what I dont therefore understand is why it doesnt give the option of re-sixing each frame to an 'animation friendly' resolution if MXi are almost always 'image-resolution' ? Generating each frame at full res takes considerable time and is effectively a waste of time -- Hopefully this will become part of the next release
In my view MULTILIGHT is what makes maxwell - its the one thing that gives nextlimit the edge over other un-biased renderers like say 'fryrender'. Well worth investing in in my opinion. Changing light colour/temperature would be the obvious next step i guess, but rudimentary features like frame re-sizing simply must be in place first.
