Open the image of your choice in mxcl, save it as mxi and use as emitter.
Additionally you could add another BSDF layer to deal with the reflections of the screen.

I used to render simple planes with sky dome on and save it as mxi.
Nice tip...

How do i determine the brightness of an emitter texture?
is it just through multilight?...............if so what is the baseline?

You can use the intensity slider after loading the image in MXCL to determine how much light the mxi texture should emit. Then during render time you can ofcourse also control it with a Multi Light slider. The intensity slider may blow out the image pretty quickly, I usually set it bright enough so if the mxi texture is visible in the render the whites won't look grey.
