I was trying to get together some more images for my Gallery http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... hp?t=19144 (update soon) and I wanted to know which image was done with which version of Maxwell.

Although this list is not exhaustive and may contain small errors, I thought I'd share, in case it's useful to others. (please feel free to post additions / corrections and I'll add them to the list).

NB: the dates are in day/month/year order
Code: Select all
alpha
1.1.23 - 10/03/05
1.1.30 - 23/03/05
1.1.31 - 01/04/05 (a great birthday present for me!)
1.1.32 - 08/04/05
1.1.33 - 15/04/05 (as far as I know, Stack! Studios are still using this version to produce amazing images!)

beta
1.2.0 - 15/06/05
1.2.1 - 23/06/05
1.2.2a - 01/07/05 (in the alpha and beta days we all used to wait for Maxwell Fridays!)

RC
1 - 02/12/05
2 - 05/12/05
3 - 07/12/05
4 - 12/12/05
5 - 17/01/06

Final
1.0 - 26/04/06 (Hurrah!)
1.1 - 04/07/06 (user rmw wrote his own XSI plugin, up until then we had to use daros's exellent MatadorLight app to render obj's exported from XSI)
1.5 - 23/05/07 (XSI finally gets an official plugin - double Hurrah!)
1.5.1 - 17/07/07
1.6 - 22/11/07
1.6.1 - 13/12/07
1.7 - 19/06/08

What stands out by its absence is any comment on the alpha releases. Some of the worst renders ever came from those RC versions.

what is interesting is to try back alpha and beta release, just to better feel the major improvements that has been done since them, i still regret their real simplicity though (talking about the Max plug) . But i couldn't work without ML or the low memory use today. I hope the next release will contain procedurals!
