From Studio to Pack & Go - Losing Materials

In two cases with the same file, I've had materials go missing when I export from studio using Pack & Go. When I go to open the Pack & Go file, a material that was assigned to an object in the original Studio file, is no longer assigned and has disappeared. Seems random...it happened to two different objects with different materials.
Original file created and exported in MW 1.7 (XP) and re-opened in MW 1.7 (OSX).

This is still an issue...
I seem to be losing material tags on export (Pack & Go) from studio...original file was created in 1.6.8 and had materials assigned and has worked fine. When using 1.7 I've noticed some materials are dropped upon reopening in Studio.
Is it possible that the object the material is assigned to is failing a test on export so the material isn't exported?

Although not the same, what you describe is similar to the very random material/uv error that's happening with mxs files created with the Cinema plugin.
A theme of random material problems is slowly emerging?

I'm having a problem pinning the problem down...
I've noticed on simple emitters...single surface diameters and rectangles created for lighting that they seemed vulnerable to material loss. I went back and turned same emitters into solids and voila -- they exported fine.
I then went back and exploded the solid emitters and turned them back into single surfaces and it exported fine, so.
Not sure what I've found!
