[solved]....white dots in Rendering

That happens the first time, since a long time,....but in this Project I get white dots in the Render.....for testing the glass has no ior settings....and the only light source is the physical sun,....thats it.
This is really strange.Have somebody an idea what that could be,....?

What do you mean the glass has "no IOR settings?"

I would say those are caustics. As it is a thin object I would add a ghost layer to let light go faster through it.

Yup those look like caustics.

Seeing that you probably don't need refraction on that piece, I would use ags. Otherwise it will take a long time for that area to fill in with light.

thats the point....this glass has no refraction!...

Can you provide the material settings for that glass?

...for sure

I fixed it!The Problem was a poly-plane which was laying direct on the canopy-geometrie.And it was in the canopy-object-group in MWST...so I oversaw it. That one has an other glass-material...I kill that one,....now it works as it should,...I forgot to delete this poly-plane after exporting the scene from cinema....sorry guys for waisting your time.

I have a quick question for my own education; in the MXM it shows an Nd of 1.00. Isn't that air? Shouldn't it be higher than 1.00 to be - anything other than air?

For a transparent material, anything over 1.00 refracts light and will take longer to render.

Even air refracts, although it's very very little. So little it's normally set to 1.0. But i'm gonna be a real nerd now and post the air ior value below.
Air 1.0002926

Unless you're in L.A. then it jumps to about 1.2...

so it is caustic!

Or possibly 30 on a hot day.
