Yes, thanks for the news, displacement looks awsome, and the fact you used ZBrush default models to test it is very reassuring production-wise (they look very accurate) !!

... thx for the [displacement] news...
What news? Am I missing something? Is it news, that the update will be released soon? Is it news that uncommon technology is being used?

Well, I don't know about the Realflow-things, but when it comes to Maxwell, this letter seems to sum up, what we have been dealing with the last up to three months and/or more.

I must confess, I am getting used to lower my expectations more and more... but then again that's probably a good thing.
I will be that much happier and enthusiastic when it finally comes to the "real thing".

it looks good, but am I really allowed to read it, or am I one of the few people living south of the equator that have winter now and have to wait for another half a year, before I'm officially allowed to read it?

Should it indicate that this is going to come true in half a year, when it's summer here? ;)

The displacement feature looks impressive, BUT the big questions is:
Will it work from the plugins as well or is it just a Studio feature?

Posted: Fri Aug 03, 2007 5:49 pm
by Mihai
It is a material feature, so yes it will work from the plugins as well.

It's part of the engine...so, it has nothing to do with Studio.

[I guess Mihai's quicker than me... ]
