Greetings, this is the first time that I actually got to use maxwell after the update from 1.1 to 1.5...
For some reason navigating through in studio is a lot slower than before (winxp 32b)
has anyone experience this? I though it suppost to be the opposite.
regards,
leonardo

Try checking in prefs if you have AA lines turned on, how many OGL lights are active. You can switch off AA lines and turn down the number of OGL lights for faster viewport speeds. Also if you have VBOs enabled. On graphic cards that support vertex buffers, this option can speed up the scene quite a bit if you have lots of geometry.

my only light in the scene is the sky... and I have no clue what an AA line is

Antialiased lines in the OGL viewport, see if that's turned on in Studio Prefs (OGL section).

the AA lines are on...
I think I should have been a little more specific.... it's extreamly slow trying to select objects and moving them. It crashes too!
and I'm not even half way done with my vegetation like my 1.1 renderings on the gallery.
Could it be that my library was done in 1.1?

I also noticed some considerable slowdowns in Studio even with relative simple objects with about 3000-5000 polys and around those polycounts, no complex stuff. After clicking and selecting an object it takes between 10 to 20 secs before it's selected. And i'm not even gonna mention the delays when a object is moved, rotated or scaled.
And no, all the AA lines and sky and the other stuff is turned off. Yet it still lagging like there was no tomorrow..

Ive noticed when using the x y z co-ordinates and typing in the move, rotate, scale its really quick but as soon as the mouse has a go it slows down

Running XP32 here Teabag, but i don't think the OS makes a difference. It seems to be the same issue across the whole spectrum of systems.
This have to originate from within Studio itself, but i thought it got a facelift now in 1.5 and were supposed to be much faster.

It looked so much quicker on that video showing us the speed of importing, moving, rotating etc in studio!

I cant find it...maybe if I watched it again ill feel better!

It has always been slow... but for some reason with 1.5 it's even slower than before!
Could someone confirm if this problem has anything to do with my library being done in in 1.1? I would hate to redo my entire library from objects to materials for no good reason.
If that's the case, then I'll downgrade to 1.1 until NL implements displacement
