hi Tanguy!

are these clipped leaves? or geometry? and with maxwell 1.7 or the old sss-system?
Is it possible to get translucent leaves using clipmaps?
could you share your material?

Just picked up onyx to do urgent eucalypt tree surgery.
I presumed the leaf library had a eucalypt leaf , but no.
Does anyone have a eucalypt leaf and bark they could share or point me in the right direction ?

Yes mate I cant remember the exact option but I think it is in the twig angle! I don't find leaf control so great in onyx!

i guess this thread's gonna have a boost after 2.0 is released .. :)

* * *

it's strange that there's still no software available that generates correctly pruned hedges. so many people need hedges !

well .. times will come .. :)

Hehe yes this thread should get a massive boost once 2.0 hits the streets :)

What do those pruned hedges look like ? can you post some referencephotos of such things ?

"pruned" tree .. (with cut-off branches, that some packages can handle)

an extreme version of a hedge:

or simple geometric forms like that:

i mean lots of folks do a lot of 3d trees nowadays or at least for shadow and reflection passes and comp them in in 2d afterwards, at least in arch viz of course.

but realistic hedges are 99% photoshopped ..
