Hi everyone,

Yes, the next newsletter is out now and should be in your inboxes soon. If you can't wait, you can also have a look at the newsletter here:

http://www2.nextlimit.com/newsletter/sp ... spr07.html

Hope you like it. We have decided to call it "spring newsletter" because it seems like a lot of people expect a newsletter every month, and we can't always live up to that. Therefore, from now on, we will release a newsletter whenever we have something to say, hopefully on a regular basis.

Thanks everyone! Happy Easter!

Nicole

well, Linux is cool. Also, memory management improvements are solid. Is that 16000x10669 image done on 32 bit with 2 gb ram? Or 64 bit with more ram?

64-bit, and it used 6GB RAM. It's a ridiculously huge image, and I could've gone bigger (12GB RAM on this system). I also think that's only like s.l. 7. But the point isn't that we can do 53" images at 300dpi, but that you can do something like 8000x6000 with less than 2GB. Hi-res for everyone. :)

Of the things revealed so far, I can tell you Resume Render always being on without you having to think about it is something you get used to, fast.

Cool and worth waiting for 1.2, even though it is a real pain to have to wait!

 Now thats what im talking about High Resolution!! Re-Render! Great update it will be! One tiny question tho, The newsletter says that there are improvements to the core - do we have to recreate the materials in our scenes? or does it convert the materials automatic?

You will not have to remake or re-do any materials... you may choose to make a tweak or two, but you don't have to.

That part about better memory handling sure put a smile on my face.
But i´ll hold on with the praising until i´ve seen how it works with the C4D plugin and a high poly scene.

If you´ve also fixed the issue with MXM texture paths, and improved the above plugin, it would definitely be Christmas all over again. We´ll see.
