Plug Update 070607 - MOD of Plug Final

Hey guys!

Here is a plug im working on but something just doesn't look right? I think it may be the look of the brass material (looks a bit CG)! Just cant get the lighting right!

There are a couple of bits to complete or correct:

1) The exported geometry needs more smoothing
2) Fuse texture still to complete
3) Possibly more shine to the plug material
4) Might do some cables for more detail

Will be grateful for more critics! or some advice to improve

Thanks

Maybe a noise map for the roughness of the metals would help.

It's looking good.

i think the reason why it doesnt look totally photoreal is the lack of edgebevels. they are just too hard.

Hey Fernando,

I havent done much using roughness maps, How does the map effect the roughness?

Is this noise map fine?

Thanks Tea_bag

I would use a less fine noise, not like grain but like clouds or smoke and not very contrasted.
White parts mean roughness=100, black parts r=0
You'll notice that the numeric square is still active. It will act as a top limit or a percentage for white color scaling the grey values down. If its 100 the map will act as it is; if you set 50 the map values will all be half its real value.
