Thanks... getting there. I'm reusing 2 or 3 textures in places and they stick out like sore thumbs... more painting to do.

Just one thing about the texturing I find unrealistic, is that it's a bit too even. The grunge is too even. For example close to the engines, on the body, there could be more grunge. More of the grunge should be smeared across the body, in the direction the ship is moving...old burned oil from small leaks for example.
....and what happened to grunge music, seems like a finished genre

Hey, don't talk to me; take it up with the guys at ILM who painted the original model that way.
Sure would like to be able to pull off a clean verison of this that didn't look completely fake; so far, no luck.

Well am i dreaming???
EXCELLENT WORK (im envious).
Perhaps i must be wrong but in the movie i think engines are warm.

Hmm.. depends on the model. This model was painted pretty damn close to the original 1/24th Red 5 model, of which I've got a bunch of references. The Red 3 model and Red 2 model are on tour a bunch, and they're cleaner in places, and have different engine color schemes.

not much i can say.. your texturing work on it is in a class of it's own. Stunning!
Did you model the X-Wing too ?
How long did it take you to texture it all ? 2 weeks or more.. ?

Yes, I modeled the X-Wing.. it took a couple of weeks to do the textures, exactly.

Ode to This, My 1000th Post:
Ah, 1000th post...
You were just a moment in time;
so sublime.
Previous: 9-9-9,
and while that's
perfectly fine,
you must realize that
evermore
(now that you are digits:four)
you'll have to type
ten times more
before
you post a stupid post-count poem, again.
