RonB: Probably the displacement pushing your render times up. You have a good system so is it possible for you to bake displacement into your icecream cone mesh?

Could I see the mesh for this please? I remember ages ago a topic on this liquid inside glass thing, but you have got it perfect.

the model is very simple, and I used Thomas An's method: The liquid is enclosed in the glass object.
