Hi again everybody!
Nico: That glass surface look good on your table
i never thought about making it like that, but this is getting interesting to see. Keep working hard on that bistro idea you have. Thanks
good to hear you like my models.
olbo: Hiya
don't be sorry, it's a good thing you bring this up and it's not that unexpected as the object conversion was a rushed through task so there are bound to be alot of polygonal errors and probably also nurbs errors in those formats which are nurbs.
Oww, so they have both flipped faces and broken seams, that's not very good.. eeeeeek! if you wanna and feel like fixing those issues then by all means be my guest, that type of object manipulation is ofcourse allowed as it might affect rendering and the final result, what i meant in the rules were that adding or removing parts of the objects isn't allowed as it would affect the overall look of them too much. Reducing polygons and fixing errors such as those you mentioned here is only a good thing!
I'm more thankful than anything else that you pointed out these issues with the models olbo, it's what i said in the main post in this thread that if you have or find any problems with the models then please let me know, then i'll do a better job on the next challenge objects we will have later on.I'll never take things like this personal
that'd be just stupid to do.
Those errors in the tubeformed chair legs aren't that unheard of since they're in parts in Rhino, i just forgot to make them into one part. Late night modeling isn't good all the time hehe. And those problems with the table feet is also due to the same reason, lousy excuse i know. And the fact i'm still kinda a newbie at this (only 3 months of Rhino under my belt) so i don't know even half of it's inner workings yet. However if these problems you pointed out Oleg, if you're willing to fix them then please do so. I'd be a happy chap if you did
and never be sorry for saying things like this, i like it.
Btw.. 2 edits at the same time, you really needed to sleep
hehe
Thanks so much Oleg for your help
ki_cz: Sounds great!
you're welcome aboard and i'll hope we'll be seeing your entry aswell in this challenge. Hopefully there will be lots of entries as you said as there are lots of people who shown interest in this already.
As you said it's a good idea to repeat this again, which we'll probably do after i seen the results from this challenge and what it gives. If the results are good enough i'm not shy of initiating more of these challenges, once or twice a month after the new Maxwell 1.0 is out
As you know.. challenges and competitions is what drives humans to be more creative and create better stuff
if this succeeds then we can look forward to alot of good Maxwell artworks coming outta this, and if it's good enough i'm sure NL is willing to add it to their gallery on the main site. Now that'd be a nice prize
Thanks everybody and keep on rendering!
good luck!
