I forgot to mention that I never render larger than 4200 x 2800 pixels, which are used for 6 x 4 meter billboards (architectural signs). if it needs to be larger, I use Genuine Fractals Pro to blow up, it does a real good job, much better than bicubic sampling in photoshop.

"Bicubic interpolation creates better effects than Nearest Neighbor or Bilinear, but takes longer. Like Bilinear, it looks at surrounding pixels, but the equation it uses is much more complex and calculation intensive, producing smoother tonal gradations"

I am not sure, but having looked at it and experimented myself I think Blow-Up uses the Pshop algorithms to do it's enlarging. I think it just does it better than the average user (successive enlargements, that sort of thing) and combines it with some noise and unsharp masking to improve the final image. It works well, but it's not a miracle worker. I still think PhotoZoom Pro is better, and I haven't used GF since version 2 or so.
