Hi!
I just wanted to create a scene with some 'complex' geaometry and all sort of materials to test interaction and performance.
this is the result:
Image
high res (1920x1080)

stats: Level 16.81 in 38h; each object has ~100,000 polys

As you may see there is a problem with the dielectric object.
Since I already rendered dielectrics succefully even with a low abbe:

It seems like there must be some extra challenge for M~R in this scene.

So I kept testing dielectrics... And was able to reproduce the effect in this scene (lvl22):

To show you how this effects increases with samplinglevel I 'captured' this little video:
Animation: Samplinglevel 0.00 - 22.17

My Conclusion: When it comes to small geometry, dielectrics seem to 'emit' more colored light than they should.

What I'd like to know: Is this a known bug by NL?

Thanks for your patience ;)

those dots really look familiar. i think i remember there's still some problem with dielectric objects intersecting one another (one inside the other, completely or even partially). in your first image the geometry looks quite complex, so i can't tell if this is the case (and looking at the second one i'm positive that it's not the case).

i guess that with a higher abbe the problem disappear. is that so?

Yes, I guess it would. Maybe I'll do a render to prove.
