I stepped onto one of many mysteries once again...

I was rendering 3 Images for a presentation yesterday. All running on our Farm.
What I normally do is when its somewhere up at SL 11 I grab the image that mxcl writes and place it in indesign into a layout etc.

So when the Render is through all I have to do is replace the old image with the new one....

..and this is where we get to the problem. I tweak the Multilight a little and use save image to store a tif / png / hdr or whatever.

But after writing an Image it is almost impossible to save and replace the old one.
If you change the multilight then save over the old file and open it in Photoshop the image won't have changed at all.

What wonders me evenmore is if you save a file and name it render01.tif and then save a second image with a different multlight setting
it will write the exact same image as render01.tif eventhough you named it render02.tif.
The only way around this is saving in a different filetype for example save as render02.png.
This is not really an option for me and it just cost me ALOT of time which I don't have in a hectic day sending out renders in printed form.

And while we're at it there is something I have probably not read up on or something but what's the deal with saving images from mxcl and color profiles.
To me it seems like you HAVE to assign sRGB and then convert to the target profile. At least this is what I've been doing so far. I would love to have this cleared up.
