In 1.7 I very quickly lose the ability to see the manipulation handles in a scene. I have tried resetting the viewport and that does not bring them back. I have also tried changing the location x,y,z numbers and that does not move the object I am trying to move. The only way I have found is to save the scene and reload it and I get the handles back and the ability to move the object.
