Maxwell release RC2 crashes every time i close the box where you change the color of the coating layer. I tested this on various simple and complex scenes and it's a reproductable bug.

Can you tell the steps Max? I can't replicate it, works here.

Sure thing
1. Create a default material for your object.
2. Add a coating layer.
3. Click to change the reflectance color value (under IOR in the coating material, in that little grey box.
4. Pick a color.
5. Click on the X in the corner to close the colorselection box and then it instantly shutsdown Maxwell Studio.
This happens all the time, shouldn't be difficult to replicate Tom.

Yes, this was what I exactly played back but works for me.
Please, can someone else try these steps?

What the... so you cannot get it to crash :/ that sucks. I hope you're using the same RC as we are
I'll replicate this issue again once i get home in about 2 hours to see if the same thing happens at home. I'll keep you posted.

Nope i haven't tested that method yet, but you shouldn't have to take the step of saving the shader first before you edit it so anyways it's still a bug since it crashes if you do it the normal way. But i'll try the other method once i get home soon.

Well, I simply do NO additional things. Let's keep it simple...
1- create material
2- create coating
3- click reflectance color of the coating (picker pop-ups)
4- select color from picker
5- close pop-up from corner (X)
No crash here...
I tried above steps thousand times but no crash.
