FIXED 1.0: SolidWorks Plugin

No one seems to be responding in the SolidWorks forum so I thought I'd post here instead.

Good news it installs correctly doesn't crash as much. So rather than bitch and moan I thought I'd try a few things to help stamp out the bugs.

The Plug-in / render is not working assigning materials doesn't work refer BUG pics 1,2 and 3 below. It's a bit weird because one window says there are no materials or emitters but the preview does have some colours as per the Beta.

Tried to import into Standalone, imports ok but doesn't bring the camera view refer BUG pic 4. I haven't tried to create a new camera as yet or anything else for that matter.

Hi John,
We are fixing it and we will release a new update this week. Btw in a few days there will be an update of the sw plugin to make the workflow easier.
Sorry for the inconveniences.
Regards,

Juan

The bugs I posted are in RC2 and the latest plug-in dated Dec 05-05. The fix Juan is referring to has not yet been released-- later this week.

RC2 the standalone may well work, haven't tried it. For now I'll go back to using the beta until the next update. Things are changing so fast, it's hard to keep up.

I will keep installing the RC's just to help find bugs. Beta testing is not something I'd normally do, but for some reason this particular bunch of ones and zeros has captured my imagination more than any other software I've used.

john,

check out the RC3, looks like our problems are mainly solved there.
