Hi all,

Sorry to be the first to spoil the joy of this new update (which is fantastic BTW).

Now to topic, I found that a simple plane subdivided many times create a visible pattern when the grass modifier is used. (I hope is my mistake and not a bug)

Does the pattern look chaotic again if you try different nr of blades per square meter?

Hi, there is always a visible pattern as you can see in this new picture. Having the left plane subdivided by 20

Is it applying the same seed per face? I can see how that could cause patterns on faces.

My solution for this was to stack 2 (or more) modifiers with different seed values -- the patterns offset each other and we get back to chaos.

Best,
Jason.

That´s a nice solution but don´t you think that this behavior shouldn't be present?

How I could check if the same seed is being applied in every surface?

Here is with the same number of blades but different seed, and still the pattern is visible.

JC, if I'm correct, it's a software problem, not anything the user can do. For now, I'd follow Jason's advice.

Thank you so much Brian to let me know that is a software problem, I thought that I was doing something wrong in my grass config. :)
I´ll follow Jason´s advice.

Well, I'm not 100% sure it's software related, but it looks that way to me. Juan will have to say for sure. But at least there's a work-around.
