Shadow channel doesn't match color channel's shadow?

Simple scene: a cylinder is casting a shadow from IBL to ground plane.
My render shows nice directional shadows while shadow channel shows just a blurry halo around the cylinder. I don't see this bug (?) when using emitters, only with IBL. What's wrong?

Should I post this to bugs section?

Here's one more test with another HDRI. As you can see at SL 22 the image is perfectly clean and has several sharp shadows while shadow channel is extremely noisy and doesn't have any sharp shadows at all.

Not sure what HDR you are using...it looks like "physical sky" or "skydome" is in one of the channels -- check the enviroment settings and what's used for the disabled channel, you may have inadvertently disabled a channel.

No, sky type is set to "None".

I tried another test: added an emitter plane. There's definitely a bug.

With emitter plane I see a clear and nice shadow that matches on both channels:

Now I switch emitter off with multilight, leaving environment only. The image changes back to the one from the previous post but the shadow channel stays as if the emitter is still on, like this:

I'm seeing this too. The shadow channel is clipping to black and it's not the only scene I'm seeing this with.

I'm using multilight if that's any help.

I've posted this to the bugs forum but didn't get any response.

The problem still seems to be there in version 2.0.2.
Here a simple setup, no emitter/sky, just an HDRI.

Here the beauty render :

And now the shadow pass, composited with the ground :

Both renders at SL17.
Note how the shadow is different and wider on the shadow pass.

Well, but here comes a new bug: "hidden from camera" no longer affects the shadow :( Could you check?

I have to move the above report so, could you please make a separate post illustrating this? Thanks!
