saving large HDR over network fails [no common bug]

i only noticed this recently when rendering higher res images:

when i open the mxi locally on my workstation (4000x2828px) and save as .hdr to the server i get a 4kb file containing just black - no error message and the header seems to be intact.

saving to the local hd is fine, hdr is normally written.

unfortuneatly the same problem persists when netrendering and choosing hdr as image format, which would save a lot of time with many images when 32bit output is needed.

i somehow doubt that it is related to my setup as nodes&workstation have the problem, and i don't have any trouble with saving large files over network (GB lan) from other applications or copying in explorer

can somebody reproduce this behavior?

os: workstation/nodes win x64 / server win x32

thanks,

p

I'll try it tomorrow. Usually I save mine to local drive just because of the speed increase.

I just saved a 5000 px resolution hdr to a network drive and opened it up in PS. No problems.

Local: Win Vista x64 and Maxwell x64

Server: Win Server x64

well... thanks again!

.. i'd say that's rather good news... just not really for me :(

strange that huge mxi files are written ok (had some up to 1.5GB) but hdr struggles...

if i could i'd install 64bit os on the server but it is running on older 32bit xeons....guess i have to live with it that way and convert mxi after rendering.
