Hi
I'm getting black spots in a simple render with just a very few pieces of geometry and an hdr-enviroment. There's one SSS material in the scene.
Here are to examples, rendered to sl 17-18
and
Scene can be found here:
http://www.dimension3.dk/transfer/black_spot.zip
I'm running max9, win32 on 2GB RAM dual Core AMD.

I think materials with SSS are crapping the render. I removed the trees and the grass and it looks better. instead of tons of black dots and strange blue areas I get my scene back. BBBBIIIIGGGG BBBBBUUUUGGGG !!!!
better image to explain it

I'm having issues with black dots whenever I have an MXI emitter used. I have to change it to a normal emitter to get rid of what my team is now calling flies. Somtimes they swarm, especially around SSS objects. The odd thing is that they appear more and more as the render continues. A perfect patch of pixels can render up and 10 minutes later there are flies where there was once normal pixels.
Shook

i have seen some posts that seem to suggest that if an object is not closed when using sss it will produce these nasty little flies....
the more open objects the more flies....
thats what i have noted anyway
