1: materials are not assigned to objects when assigning them to collapsed group nodes instead.

2: the context menu for the materials work randomly (sub assign material) does or does not appear.

Hold down Ctrl when you drag the material to the group, then all the objects in the group recieves that material.

Appreciate the tip. I usually just use the context menu. I take it the same applies to that. Will try it.
