RC2 released Dec 5. I'm perplexed.

I just downloaded the RC2 standalone and RC2 FZ plug-in. It STILL does not work

I was actually able to get a decent rendering out of the Beta version....nothing now, even when I use the same FZ model that in the beta version produced a pretty decent rendering (after 9 hrs). All the settings the same, but now just a black background with a very white (totally "burned") area where the sunlight comes in...the emitters I created previously don't even show up.
The FZ pallettes look just like the old ones (it does however have a "command lne" space in the middle of the pallete)...for some reason I was expecting something else, but I must be wrong about that. Anyway, something's broke, maybe I'm not doing something right

Hi Josephus,
There are no significant updates in the plugins for the RC. The palette is the same. We have updated them to generate valid mxs files to render or to open inside MXstudio. After finishing the release we will add more features to the plugins. We will try to add FormZ procedural textures and other great enhancements.
Btw, you can open the mxs generated in FormZ inside MXstudio and review your materials. If you get a black render this is because there are not emitters with intensity enough in your scene (remember that the sky is temporally disabled). We will update the render engine this week to continue fixing this issues. Sorry for the inconveniences.

Thanks

I've just understood why i obtain only a black rendering :
the sky (the only one light i have) is out of order.
Be assured i trust in NL to correct that greatly!
Bon courage

Juan, thank you for your reply and clarifications. When you say the "sky is temporarily disabled", does that include the sun as well (there are 2 "boxes" to check, one is for "physical sky" and the other "sun enabled")?
In the new RC1 and RC2 versions, should the scene scale be .025 (when using inches), or should it be "1" (not 0.1) as stated in the latest documentation? This could be why the emitters that worked previously don't show up now.
I'm confident that the wait will be well worth it

I've big problems rendering within formZ plug-in.
Always black or burned!
I open the *.mxs generated from the plug-in in "studio" and I've found that emitters (I'm not using sky or sun - only emitter) have black color!!!
After changing color to white and saved again the *.mxs file, with a batch I let mxcl.exe start the render and than things seems better... really far from beta, but something (fast!) appears...
Ciao, Jo
P.S. There is no preview ("converge to his...") in mxcl.exe: is always black

ahhh, black emitters!!! Well, that's probably my problem too. I'll check it out. Thx Jo.
Preview is not working for me either.

Another thing: in studio you can hide emitters, but when you render they are still there!
The only trick to hide them is to put their power to 0.
I've had problem putting color back to black.
