i am having issues writing the mxs file. if i create a new file i can specify where to write the mxs file. but if i open a previously created file i cannot. i click on the button and nothing happens.
also is it possible to create a file on a mac and render it on a PC. i keep getting the message that it can't create the mxs file, but it could be related to the issue mentioned above.

Hello tperks,
could you check if there is a file in your system named "maxwellz.txt"? This file could contain info useful to find what's happening. May be this is due a wrong path. are you using a mac? avoin using characters like ":".

Juan

i am still having this issue. if i creat a new file in form Z on my PC and click on the mxs path button, nothing happens. everything works fine on my mac. has anyone else reported this? is there any kind of preference file i could delete? maybe it is trying to find a path that doesn't exist.

Hello Tim,
so your issue is not pressing the render button but pressing the output mxs path button? As you say, it could be due your preferences. In the preferences menu of formZ set the preferences at default. We are investigating this issue with Autodesys and sure we fix it soon.

yes, correct, it is in pressing the output mxs path button. i set the preferences to default and it still didn't work. i even tried deleting the form z preferences and it still doesn't work. this only happens with files that begin on the mac. if i start with a fresh file on the PC and model only on the PC, i can select the mxs output path.
