This is not a stupid question...
The reason is that PSD can correct you monitor display (don't forget Mac is different from PC : gamma).
If you use CS2 (but you can make this differently with 5.5) you can go to
Sorry for the french version
And you can choose the display you want.

Now I think it's a scale issue. I got the bitmap to show up (256x256) but it ignores the FormZ scaling to 1000% percent, so it's tiny. So tiny it looks like a color. I tried variations of scaling but Maxwell ignored it. I supose previously my view was too far away to notice the scale issue. So do bitmaps have to be high resolution for Maxwell to use them properly?

, I am glad you can get this pics after the normals are working fine.. very soon you will have so much power to make more scenes like that

Are you using the "Texture Map" tool? Even when using default settings, I've discovered that I get results like you are showing, unless I use the Texture Map tool on all of my textured objects.

Hi,
As Andy and Matthew say, you need to use the texture map tool. Internally any formZ plugin which needs texture info has to get it through this tool.
