Geometry settings for maxwell import

Hi all,
I'm new to the program and am trying to import formz OBJ and STL files into Maxwell, Some surfaces especially the flat ones do not appear, some are heavily triangulated and partial surfaces are missing, if it is a STL file then the faces are very faceted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
