Hi,

I've read some discussions about the view matching between Z and Maxwell Render :
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... ight=views
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... ight=views
http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... ight=views

Actually maxwellZ seems to translate incorrectly the view angle if the image ratio doesn't respect 24x36 (3/2) ...

Perhaps I've missed something in this area ?!

I love panoramic views so I've search a trick to solve that.

I've create a translator in Excel to calculate correctly the Maxwell focal length from form*z view parameters.

That work fine.

You can find this technique here :

Let me know if that works for all of you.

Juan,

I suppose it could be not really difficult to add this feature in a future version of Maxwellz

hope this helps

JL

Ps.
By the way I've notice that the EDIT button in MaxwellZ (Surface style parameter) seems to not works properly under Mac (but fine on pcs)

Hi Jean Luc, this is very interesting. As fas as I know the plugin always matches FZ view except when the user has zoomed with the view (because in this case the view really represents a render region of the whole view), but we will check it again and if we can add it to the plugin we will do taht.

It was fixed in the latest update, is anyone else getting this issue?

Thanks a lot!

Juan:

I still have the following problem with the edit button:

1. if mxed is not open and I click on edit from Z, it takes me to the correct mxm.

2. if I do not quit mxed, go back to form z, and then try to edit another mxm, mxed comes to the front, with the first mxm displayed.

3. if I quit mxed after editing a mxm and then chose to edit a different mxm from z, the correct mxm opens.

The excellent Robert Woodruff made a new solution with a new excel file !
This new solution doesn't need anymore to pass through the Studio.

This consist to duplicate the Z view and change the focal length for the new one.

If you want to get more informations and download this new excel file, just go to:

PS
Only view with a different ratio than 3/2 (24mmx36mm) are affected by the change of the view angle between Z and MX
