Animation from FZ to Maxwell

I am considering doing an animation from a file originating in FZ. Maxwell can be selected as a renderer from within FZ but it seems only to render the first frame of the animation and then stop. There seems to be no function from Maxwell to "give back" the finished frame to FZ to create the animation file.

Am I missing something here? Can animated cameras be imported into Studio and animations rendered directly from there somehow?

Hi Peder,

We are starting to work in supporting animation in the plugin, it was not possible until formZ 6.x was released and now there is an api that could make it possible to support camera animation, and probably object animation or motion blur. We will keep you updated.

Regards,

Juan

Great thanks!

Great to hear. I will have to find some other solution for this current project in the meantime.

Oh no...

...another request for animation may be coming up. Please consider implementing this sooner rather than later. It's been so long since I had to deal with the limited rendering abilities of FZ it would be great to be able to do this in Maxwell.

Yes. It will be so nice to create Maxwell animations from Form-Z. Good thing render farms exist. Is the plug-in update, to support animation, expected to be released in 2008 :?:

Also, are there plans for Maxwell Render to support RPC content :?: Or is that up to Archvision :?:

I just found out in the middle of the documentation about MaxwellZ 1.7 that the plug-in now supports the export of animations.

Trying with a simple model and just with the camera animated, formZ would always crash when generating the animation.

After several attempts with every possible kind of values combination I've found out that you also need to specify a path for the mxi file in the maxwell options, or it will crash formZ.

This was tested on a macpro with 10.5.

I have been waiting for this functionality for a long time, now let's see if it doesn't take a long time to render an animation. -you wish-

Hi Paulo,

Which version of formZ are you using? v6.5.6 or newer is strongly recommended for animations, in previous versions you could get crashes.

Hi Juan

I using fz Rz+ 6.5.6

I also having the same problem reported on the c4d forum, the triangules with no material error message.

Sometimes if i copy the models into a new fmz file the problem goes away, sometimes it doesn't.

With the same new fmz file, sometimes it doesn't give the trg_mtl error but there are a lot of red fire flies and the material are black.
I stop mxcl switch back to formz and without changing anything the rendering comes out ok.

Today I can't explore anymore but tomorrow I will try with another file to see if the something happens.
