Hi Maher,

It is strange since we have not changed anything in that area...
- Was the previous version working fine?
- When you mean it uses the same settings do you mean optic parameters as iso/shutter...etc.. or also geometric parameters as position and target points?
- Do you have your cameras in perspective mode?
- Does it happens always or the behavior is random? Does it happens to all the scenes? What happens if you reopen the scene, is the issue fixed?
- is any other person experimenting this issue?

Regards,

Juan

Hi Maher,
Maher wrote: Maxwell continues to use the camera parameters of a previous view. The file now has only views(2,3,4). If you click on view 4 it will render the settings for view 1 (which i erased earlier to test). Should not maxwell use the formZ camera/image options resolution to render directly?
Yes Maxwell should get the formZ camera/image settings to extract the geometry parameters of the camera (position, target point, focal length) an d the resolution. The rest of the parameters (iso, shutter...) are extracted from the maxwell display options dialog and are the same for all the views, that's why I asked you in my previous post what parameters remain the same
Maher wrote: I could send you the file itself (226 kb). I am not sure how to post to the forum.
Yes please you can use the support account for that purpose.

We can't reproduce it, is any other one getting this issue?

Thanks!

Thanks Maher,

Finally we could know what was happening, it seems a limitation between FormZ and Maxwell:

When you are in a perspective in formZ and you zoom in with the scroll wheel (or the frame zoom tool), you don't change the view angle or view direction. You rather display a sub portion of the completely visible image. So the plugin reads the same geometric parameters of the camera (position, target, focal length..) for both cases, so zoomed views are not properly rendered. Right now there is no way for the Maxwell plugin to get rid of this limitation, it needs further investigation to know if it’s possible to fix for the next update creating a render region under the hood or transforming the target and focal length. Just zoom out until you get the real view of the camera (without zoom) and Maxwell will match the view exactly. If you need zoomed views you can create other views in formZ.

Juan

the tip here is to use the menu 'views/ reset view angle' before setting up a view for maxwell export.
