How about a live sun shading preview, much like in SketchUP

That would be great too!
or at least a graphical sun window where we could see the altitud and orientation in plan of the sun disc!
It will also be great if we could dissable the day year location and time for the sun, and enable a direct setting of angles for the sun.
In some cases it is not that important the accuracy of the sun angle, but the exact angle of the light in relationship with the objects.

If not a simple stencil shadow, I wish at least lines showing the direction of sun. I try to put littke sun between the window and it really takes time...

It's already there. The compass has a small yellow sphere and a line that shows the direction of the sun.
A simple sun shading would be better though.

Yes, I know the "compass sun" but even if its looks cool, sometimes isnt enough. Especially if we are real close to the ground you cannot see nothing. But maybe its need a little practice. But how you think about rotating a globe? its my another pain, I cant rotate this as I wish...

I add it here because it's a minor. Possibility to set .kml geo-position in RC5 as in 3dsmax plugin.

and maybe a "rotate compass" option could be usefull too
