SpaceBall support

Well since the 1.0 release will now offer the ability to move around in 3D views during the setup, builtin support for SpaceBall/SpaceMouse devices would be a boon for those of us with problems with mouse hand fatigue.

The programmability of the SpaceBall buttons also make switching between different 3D environments quite painless.

I was referimg to the spacemouse, not spaceball but I actually like the pilot a lot. I'd prefer the ball to the puck for operation but I like the key layout on the pilot. I think the buttons on the spaceball are nicer than the ones on the pilot. Neither design is perfect and I think that a mixture of the spaceball and pilot would really suit me best but that's not likely to happen so I had to choose what I thought would suit me better overall.

Just wanted to add my support for this.

I use a combination of Cadman and Belkin Speedpad.

The ability to manipulate emitters with a 3D controller would be very welcome 8)

Bump. Pleeease.

And if we can't have that, can we at least have the ability to remap the zoom / pan / rotate key and mouse button combos? It screws up my head to switch from another app to Studio and have to use a different navigation style.

Yes, yes, 3D Connexion are very good at working with developers to get theire product suported. They just released SketchUp support after a very speedy development period. They also have a $99 (usd) device that just came out, this would be a great featue.
