I was wondering this as well, but Maxwell being an unbiased renderer I'm not sure. It would be great to be able to render out separate passes as well, so I could adjust the reflections in post if i wasn't happy with the real world reflections.

If I understand the meaning of the Roadmap on the Maxwell site we shouldn't have to wait much longer than Wednesday of this week. I think that the features in the release on Wednesday will allow for separate layer functions.
this might be what you are referring to.
