Better Bump effect control per ...

Hallo,

very often I have seen the intensity of a bump effect after many hours only, if the noise was gone. And than I must start again, because the effect was to strong. And, the bump intensity is dependent from the map resolution. So, it is very difficult to adjust the right effect. For example a fine leather bump is a long time hidden behind the Maxwell noise.

I would wish to get a resolution independent bump (so I could set the intensity based on experience) and a quick rendermode for testing the bump effect (something like camera cosine without raytrace calculation).

Micha. A while back I asked if it could be based on a total depth from top to bottom, as we generally can take a good guess at that...
I don't know if I convinced them. Certainly the method in the current beta, where the pixel size of the map affects its strenght is absolutely counter intuitive and, I think, agiainst all that NL is trying to do....
