I’m sure it’s too late but I’m going to wish for this anyway. Maxwell probably will have some of these features but I thought I should get my 2 cents in.

I would like to have a full set of materials like those below to start of with:

Wood (Birch, Oak, Pine, Cherry, etc.)

Wood Floors including various finishes and patterns (parquet, herringbone, floorboards, ladder)
Roof tiles (IBR sheeting, Spanish/ roman tiles, scalloped)
Glass/ plexiglass/ etc.
Rubber/ Water/ Ceramic
Metals: Iron/ Stainless Steel/ brass/ copper/ steel/ iron/ bronze/ nickel/ Zinc/ lead/ mercury/ gold/ platinum/ aluminium/ silver/ chrome

Maxwell does light realistically which makes the hassle of lighting a scene less, won’t it be nice if it could also take away the hassle of creating good materials as well. The lightworks engine obviously isn’t as good as Maxwell but what it does have is an extensive amount of presets for materials.
