Yes, it seems very interesting, although my work is usually simple architectural models and exterior renderings, so maybe it is not important for me...

As long as we have HDR output then this is great because we could make fantastic artificial light probes! Assuming there is no noise.

Which we kind of do if you use the MXI format.

If not EXR support, at least be able to render more than 8-bit depth in TGA files...

more-then-8-bit TGA is not standard files. There's another excellent standard for all kind of images - TIFF.

Yes, I mentioned TGA as an example, although TIFF or HDR would be the ideal, of course.
