Camera Profiles

I think it would be a nice feature to have the ability to choose from pre-defined camera profiles for particular situations. I don't know very much about cameras but it seems to me that there are particular instances where certain cameras with certain settings would be more desirable than others. If you have a day rendering you use a certain camera with a certain lens and f-stop and shutter speeds that are already set up, same goes with night shots for both inside and outside. What do you think?

Yes, shift lenses (maybe shift/tilt) would be usefull. But won't we need a fast/RT preview system to use it?

While you’re at it, it would be very nice if you could add a comprehensive tutorial on photography to give those of us with little or no knowledge of how a camera works a good head start.
anybodythink this is useful?

Maxer,
I appreciate your desire for the camera facility.
I often set up multiple cameras, each with a specific fstop and shutter speed.
Quite often I find that my scene is cluttered with cameras, perhaps five of six of them.
Is it possible to use MAXscript (or something else) to prepare a list of camera
configurations/positions that contain fstop, shutter speed settings,
and the cameras XYZ coordinates?
Something like this would allow one to quickly switch between cameras,
realize that cameras fstop/shutter speed, and "see" the scene from
a predetermined XYZ location in model space.
In essense, this sort of script would allow the end-user to create only one camera,
but switch its properties on-the-fly through the use of scripting.
Any comments would be very helpful to me.

Actually, there are some links in the tutorial section, but a full blown photography course might be more than what is needed to deal with maxwell.
Maybe we could put together some basic real world photography elements for non photograph maxwellians. I'm ok to contribute, but I'm afraid I'll need some help to correct my english.

This would be very usefull to have this kind of pre-set camera settings to choose from.
I also would like to have an option for "automatic" settings for the camera, like many modern digital point-and-shoot cameras have ie. an option to automatically set up the camera based on the light in the scene etc. when I press the button. And maybe even use a flash when too dark.

Since we know now that there is a possibily of a camera view inside Maxwell interface, implementation of shift lens should not be out of reach?
