Maxwell for LightWave: Tripling objects

I really wished that I don't have to triangulate my objects. I am always working with two object files, so I will be able to make quick changes on my non-tripled object. Then I hit Shift-T and update the Layout.

So my question is: is it possible that Maxwell changes 4 or more point polys into 3 point polys internally?

That would be gorgeous and I think it is possible right now as you can see in other 3D packages like Max, Rhino etc.

Thanks :D

I think it could be possible... I know what you mean... and the worse is sometimes you work on the tripled one in Layout... do some tests, save all objects to save the new surfaces you just made... then go back to modeler to make changes to th non tripled one... hit shift T, then resave under the tripled name, and voila the newly surfaces you tweaked are gone... he he

I think it is really time for a LW plugin update....

I'll give you all my agreement on this feature for you LW guys as it's necessary for the plugin to be usable. Please NL team let them have this feature :) they need it badly!

Thank you very much for your support, Max :D

Very unusual as I know you are not a LightWave user

Anytime SMS :) just so you guys can get a usable LW plugin you need all support you can get. And you're right, i'm not a LW user at all. I can't stand the interface of that program even tho it's a powerful piece of software especially now when looking at what's coming in version 9.

You are probably right but the experience has shown that it is better to wait until you have the package in your hands...

I am quite happy with LW 8.3 because I can do everything what my clients need (though I often curse at LW...)  :D

Before the triple thing gets fixed.... I really hope they fix the surface editor so you don't need all those Grey Bitmap images to get reflections and the like.
I'm convinced that so far.... Lightwave is the worst thing to pair with Maxwell.

... and I wonder if Maxwell will support all the upcoming features of LW9, like APS....

hehe... Lightwave is a lot like windows... that is, designed by engineers. Which makes it VERY flexible and powerful, just not easily comprehended by the less einsteinian of us...

I'm looking forward to the sony mind-link for maxwell... just THINK about a teapot... and ba-boom! there it is... ooops, I didn't want it to be made of chocolate!
