If a scene is only lit by an IBL the user adjusts the lighting when in MR, however, when using FIRE there's no quick method to light the scene to check material assignments etc.

Wishlist - add a lighting slider or another row in the Preview Options menu where a value can be input to adjust the ambient or IBL lighting when in FIRE.

Have you tried the lights panel? You have an IBL slider there.

Or do you mean a light option that only affects fire, but not the scene on final render?

What I have done is to increase the intensity of the IBL which works in FIRE, but having something specific to FIRE without the need to adjust the settings for the main render would be an improvement.
